Vietnam

For my google meet with my class, we had to pick a country/destination and give 3-5 facts on that place. I chose Vietnam as not many people know too much about Vietnam, plus, I love Vietnamese food!

I got the images from the internet and have linked where they have come from below the image. I created the flag by tracing the image's outline.
From this little project, I have learnt a lot. The one fact that surprised me the most was that a Water Buffalo is the national animal.
What has surprised you?

  1. Kia ora Zara,
I too love Vietnamese food - tonight I am cooking Vermicelli Noodles Salad for Sene and I. I make the sauce myself using soy sauce, fish sauce, hot sauce, lemon juice, sugar, oil and garlic.
One thing for next time - I thought your underlined information were hyperlinks to more information. I was taught in my DFI course that we shouldn't use the underline tool as i confuses the reader. Just something for next time.
Thank you for sharing your information on Vietnam.

    1. Kia ora Miss McCombie,
The Vermicelli Noodle Salad sounds delicious.
Thank you for the feedback on the hyperlinked words, though, where do we put the image source if we can not put it in the text?
I would love to experience Vietnam one day, would you?

  2. Hi Zara I,like you, didn't know that the water buffalo was Vietnam's National animal. I really like the water buffalo and have seen them working in Bali and Thailand. They are very big animals with big horns but appear to be placid.
Did you know that the French culture has had a very big influence on Vietnamese food? Crunchy French bread sticks (baguettes) are very common in Vietnam.

    1. Kia ora Gran,
Thank you for commenting on my blog.
I wonder if anyone has ever taken a ride on a water buffalo?
Banh Mi (baguettes sandwich) are really tasty, I have had them before here in Christchurch, I like how they are crunchy on the outside but soft and tasty in the middle.
Have you had a Banh Mi before?
