Creating Our Family Tartans (Sort Of)

As our school is doing an art exhibition in a couple of weeks time, all classes had to create something for it. Miss McCombie, she really wanted us to create a tartan each. So to do this, we all researched our family tartan, then had to get an A4 piece of paper and cut 29 strips along the paper. After we had done that, we weaved other colours of paper into the green paper then we used paper clips to temporary secure it. Weaving the paper was very frustrating at times especially when we were doing the bottom. After we were pleased with our weaving we PVA glued the top, waited for it to dry, cut the sides so that the edges were straight (we used a guillotine to cut it straight), stuck the other face of the tartan onto a white A4 paper then Miss McCombie gave me some strips of paper to stick on for the borders. We then found a motto that suited us, stuck the motto and our name of tartan onto the top and bottom of our border. My motto was 'Never Unprepared', which if you knew me, you would think that, that it is so me.

I am really pleased with the outcome of my tartan considering that I was getting really annoyed with the weaving at first. Have you made a tartan before or done any sort of weaving?

Evidence From The Text - Week 6

Yesterday, for our reading of the Pig Heart Boy, our group retyped our worksheet onto a google doc and completed it. The activity was about finding evidence from the text about how Cameron reacted and was feeling during some of the moments from a couple of the chapters. To helps us get the right answers, before we got given the activity Mrs North asked us questions like the ones from the sheet so that we had an idea of what we were doing. Do you think you would feel the same feelings as Cam f\felt during the same situations?
