First we chose our groups, then we chose whether we should either do it on Imovie on the iPad or wevideo on the chrome.
Cate, Leandri, Harry and I chose to do imovie as we thought it would me easier.

My Tour To Ahipara School

This term we have been linked up to school called Ahipara School and we have to comment on each others blogs.

So a couple of weeks ago my teacher told us that we had to use this site to make up a tour from Belfast School To Ahipara School.

I was quite interested but for me it did not take me five minutes it took me about two weeks!

At the end I got to fifty four stops but then I decided it would be too boring for everyone so I narrowed it down to eighteen and even that was hard because I was in love with all the beaches I am going to especially Tata Beach, Pohara Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park.

This week I drew a Beefeater guard form gangsta granny. I put a lot of detail in it. It took about 2 days to draw because I found it a bit more simpler than the other drawings I have done.

Show Not Tell

This week I wrote a show not tell to a person from my family.I hope you like it.

Whenever I see him his short, grey delicate hair always shimmers in the sun.

I love it when we do running races together because it keeps me fit and energized.

I always feel thrilled when he comes over from England because no matter how

boring shopping is he basically every time finds a way to entertain me.

At Christmas time and at my birthday I always get thousands of gifts from them.

His hugs and his smile light up my day even if I am feeling sad.

When he talks it makes me giggle because of his classic Cumbrian accent.

He is always walking around Lakes with my Nana as well.

Not only me is he generous and kind too, he is also helpful and kind to other people

like neighbors and even total strangers!

If he has too many lollies it does not matter too much because of how fit he is in

refereeing.

It is also a bonus because even though I am a child I still feel tall because he is

short!

As you can tell this person is super sweet.

I thought and decided to tell you because you will not know any of my family.

So this kind generous person is...

The World

 For the past 2 weeks we have been watching a documentary on these eleven year old children and how all their lives are either different or the same.
So now we are having to first draw the map the same as the cat post and then having to plot the names of the counties that they were in.
This was my one.

The Tower Of London

This week, I drew the tower of London for my chapter chat activity.
It only took 2 days but it it was quite tricky.

Homophones

For our spelling we are going over homophones.
If you do not know what homophones are, well homophones are words that sound the same but are not the same have a different meaning.
Lots of people get tricked up with them.
So this week we are doing there and their.

This my work so I may get it wrong as I said before it can be tricky at times.

Once upon a time there were four warty wizards, and for some weird reason, all of them had warts on their noses. They even had warts on their warts. Anyway, in the village there, there was a mischievous witch. One day she said, "Hey you wizard’s, how many warts do you have altogether?" Well, the wizards went into a tizz. So for the next week the wizards sat there and rubbed their heads and tried to think of an easy way to count how many warts there were altogether. At the end of the week they were still sitting at their table trying to find an answer. I think they are probably still sitting there!

If you like tracing other peoples work then you will love this.

This is a really cool where you get to trace a picture then it can turn into a shape so then it turns into yours.

Here are the steps: 

- Get onto Google drawing

- Then you get an image but on the end on your search put "vector" 

- Once you have your image insert it 

- Either use the polyline or the curved line to start tracing the outside of the        image

- When you stop outline it it should turn into a shape so that you can paint it if     not hook  the 2 ends together so it does so.

- Once you have done that delete your image and add some extra shapes if you     want

- After that select it all and group it by pressing the arrange button,  now you      should see the group button

10 Things I Love About My Gran

This term for our chapter chat, we are doing a book by David Walliams called Gangsta Granny.

If you do not already know Gangsta Granny is about a boy called Ben, who has to go to his grandma's house but starts to wonder what does his grandma actually do, except from play scrabble, read and wait around for Ben to come on a Friday night.
Also his parents love ballroom dancing and like Strictly Got Dancing which Ben hates, so every Friday night Ben has to go to his Grandma's Bungalow, which also Ben does not like because she eats cabbage, cabbage and more cabbage so that means she farts rotten cabbage all the time without even acknowledging she farted. 

So for one the activities we had to write 10 things we love about our grandma.

Hatters Gold

This week in a school journal we had to read a story called Hatters Gold.

It was about a boy back in the 1800's and his father went gold mining, but then he came home early because the miners were taking strike for 3 months, although the mother was not that happy about it because she was thinking they would soon be poor because of the father would not be getting paid.

For one of the activity's we had to make a poster of getting gold mining back to Cromwell.

It was quite easy.

Right now we are learning how make a speech because the speech competitions are not far away and my teacher was seeing how we say a speech she made us do a Impromptu speech which is a speech but is made up on the spot.

Maui And The Maori Princess

Maui And The Maori Princess

A long, long time ago before the English came to Aotearoa there was  a man called Maui,
he was the youngest out of all his brothers,
which he
found a real pain.

One day, his brothers were extra annoying to him, they were all saying, you can not come
fishing with us, mum doesn't like you,
we all wish you
were not alive but Maui knew they were all lying and just jealous of him that he is mums
favourite and he was
the best at fishing.

So he decided to go to his favourite place, the place where his brothers would not annoy
him, it was
the cave.

When he arrived, there was a beautiful Maori girl, that had wavy black hair and a lovely
fern dress.

Maui went over to her to say “hi” but she just came back with: “what do want?”

Leave me alone I am trying to make a present for my dad, the king, so shoo.

Maui left right away feeling very sad.

That night he could not get to sleep he kept thinking about what the girl was making for
her dad.

The next day he went back to the cave where he found the girl again sitting there.

“What are you making for your dad?” Asked Maui.

“I am trying to make something out of the ordinary which I am calling stars.” Replied the girl.

“What are stars?” Questioned Maui.

“Stars are little speckle up in the sky the glow at night.” Said the girl.

“Do you need help?” Offered Maui.

“Yes I would love a bit of help.” Replied the girl.

“I know just the person to that will us.” Answered Maui.

That afternoon Maui lead the girl to Ranginui the father of the sky which he would help
them to
create the stars.

When they got there Ranginui was having a cup of tea.

“Hi Ranginui.” Said Maui.

“Hello there Maui, why are you here?”

“I am helping this girl to create these things called stars, stars are these speckles in
the sky which glow
at night, could you
make them for her because she is making them for her dad, please?”

“Okay, over here is a speckle give this to your dad, when he gets it he will throw it
up into the sky and I
will catch it
and make it glow.”

“Thankyou!” replied Maui and the girl.

So that night the girl did exactly that, she threw the star up into the sky,
when her dad saw it he
felt so special that he
almost was sick.

Now that is how the stars were made!!

The Aurora

This week we had to do what is the Aurora task it was pretty much the same questions but a different answer.

Book Review

At first it was hard get into it, it took me a while to figure what one was elder out of Paddy and Flynn, I felt a bit bored.

By the time they went on the adventure I was hooked in and knew who everyone was.

It is not just a boys or girls book either.

I would recommend this book for people 8 and plus.

I can not wait until I read the second book.

Description

Huffing and puffing, cold and wet.

Oh no, a wave is about to crash on me, wondering whether to dive or just jump, hard decision.

Going past the first marker, it is getting deeper.

Ah, I fell in a hole!

Getting up, wading through the waves.  

Almost out of the sea coming sixth place.

Putting on a sprint and there I made it, 1st place in Canterbury championships 2017!

My mum is proud of me, I run up to my dad, I have done it, from all that practice, what I have been dreaming for!

My Scratch Project

This is my scratch project.
The very first one I have actually finished. 
To get it to start press on the red sprite (character),  then answer the questions, except for the first question write a Yes or No answer with a capital latter at the start of a word, other wise it does not work.

Minecraft Skin

Last Thursday Mark came and he taught us about minecraft skins.  We first opened a sheet from google sheets, made the grid smaller and stretched the Z column  out.  Then we used the shortcut control T and searched on google for a picture for what we would copy onto our google sheets.  We then copied the picture onto the graph.  This is what mine looks like.
