For this Mother's Day, I made my Mum some Afghans and she really liked them.
I used the Edmond's cookbook for the recipe, used chocolate icing for the top and had a Hershey's kisses instead of the walnut.
What did you do for your Mum for Mother's Day?

Yummy Zara, you can never go wrong with a recipe from the Edmond's cook book. And a great idea swapping the walnut for a Hershey chocolate to go on top.
ReplyDeleteHome made gifts are extra special. Your Mum would have really appreciated.
well Done
from Angela
Kia ora Angela,
DeleteYes, the Edmond'd Cookbook is lifesaving and my favourite, all my baking comes from the Edmond's Cookbook. What is your favourite cookbook?
Have a great day,
Zara
Thank you Zara for the Afghan biscuits, they are so delicious! I also enjoyed the pancakes you made for our breakfast too :) I felt very spoilt indeed! When someone puts effort into something it means so much more than when something is bought as it means someone has taken the time to do something with love.
ReplyDeleteWhat things do you appreciate receiving when someone wants to show they care?
Hi Zara,
ReplyDeleteI love that you choose different recipes each time you are baking. It shows that you are continuing with new learning experiences.
Did you try them? Once we are allowed, we will get baking with the class.
In the UK Mother's Day is a different day but my New Zealand friend's sent me a text to say 'Happy Mother's Day from Nala x' which I thought was lovely of them to do.
The best gift I could give my Mum right now would be a BIG hug!
Thank you for sharing,
Miss McCombie
Kia ora Miss McCombie,
DeleteA big hug is always nice especially when you have not seen them for a long time.
I love trying new recipes out. Once you get to know the recipe it is really easy, and you can try new proportions or ingredients to make them even better.
I love doing the baking in class because the last few times we have baked, I had not it made it before, so it is a new learning experience. I also enjoy, of coarse, eating the final product, yum!
Have you been baking recently?
Zara
Hi Zara the afghans look delicious and if they were as good as the Easter afghans they would have tasted delicious too.
ReplyDeleteGifts made by your children (or grandchildren) are always far far better than bought gifts.
Your great grandmother used the Edmonds
Cookbook as well,an oldie but a goodie!
