My Incredible Achievement!

I do Surf Life Saving at South New Brighton Surf Club.
I started when I was only 4 1/2 and have progressed, achieved, built confidence ever since.
I am now 11, so for 6 1/2 years!
This year I got 2 trophies, I have never got one from the surf club for anything so to have 2 in 1 year, I am thrilled. Check the last google drawing for more information.
Have you ever got a sports award before from your club?

  1. Congratulations Zara on your fantastic achievements in surf lifesaving this year. You are very dedicated to lifesaving, and each year that you continue to do it, you will become more confident, fitter, stronger and faster. You have presented ‘Your Achievement’ in a clear, eye catching and informative style. I particularly liked the award that you received for ‘Coachable Athlete’. Well deserved Zara. Keep up the great work.

    1. Kia ora Carol,
Thank you so much for your kind words on my achievement.
I really like surf life saving so it is incredible to be awarded from the club too. This season has been very enjoyable as I found I was a lot less nervous when doing races because I did do a lot more practise which led to experience.
      Have a great day,
      Zara

  2. Congratulations Zara, this is a huge achievement, well done! I think receiving the awards is great but I also like the words that describe why you got them as these are really important too - listens, turns up on time, commitment, putting in the effort, respectful to the coach- these are all great attributes.
I like how you have given some background information about Surf Lifesaving so that people who do not know about it can gain some understanding.
What's your next goal for surf lifesaving?

    1. Kia ora,
I also like the kind words that was described of me, too.
My next goal for Surf Life Saving would be, to get out past the waves more often because I can only really get out when it is small surf.
In our group, we are really supportive of each other and we know each other fairly well because we have known each other for quite a few years and we all know each persons weak and thriving events.
      Have a great day.

  3. Kia ora Zara,
Ka rawe te mahi (excellent work!)
You have SO much passion, commitment and drive toward Surf Life Saving - I feel you are going to inspire so many people with these attributes.
It is great that your Club has managed to do Prize Giving like this instead of cancelling it!
I used to take part in Tennis competition but I haven't been part of a Club that does Prize Giving.
Congratulations again! I'm glad I was able to congratulate over Google Meet first!
    Have a lovely day,
    Miss McCombie

    1. Kia ora Miss McCombie,
I am also so glad about getting the awards.
That is a little annoying that there is no Prize Giving at your tennis club to celebrate everyone's success. Maybe you could suggest it for next year because I am sure other people will probably want one too.
Did you ever have a break from tennis and do another sport?

  4. Hi Zara congratulations and extremely well done. I know that Surf Life Saving is your passion and even though you have worked very hard to achieve the awards you have enjoyed every minute of it and it has not become a chore. For you, winning an award is not what drives and motivates you even though it is a competitive sport,is the participation that you love and I really admire you for this.
I have never had any awards for sport and I am so proud of you.

  5. Hello Zara,
Great job!!! Are you excited to get back to the waves? It must´ve been hard not able to practice during the lockdown. I´ve got about 3 medals and 1 trophy for my tennis. Do you do any other sports apart from Surf Life Saving?
    Have a awsome day

    1. Kia ora Amy,
Great job on your tennis achievements!
Because it is coming into winter, I have not been out in the surf, since before level 4, as the water is coming to be just below freezing!
I also do hockey and swimming.
Have you tried any other sports?
      Thanks for commenting,
